It was a bit painful to listen to the Gypsy Rose segment because there were a lot of interesting details left out. Like how her mom made her act younger to hide her age and made her wear those big glasses and hats to cover her face more and big dresses- all to make her appear younger and also to help go along with the lie that Gypsy was behind mentally and had the mind of a child. Also how she always had her take a stuffed animal or Barbie to her dr appointments. Which is one of the reasons why Gypsy thought she couldn’t escape her mother- because she thought no one would believe her because of how her mom convinced everyone she was slow
I also want to add how Gypsy spoke with a very high pitched child-like voice, I’m not sure if it’s something her mother and her talked about and she was forced to do or if she did it subconsciously to please her mother or what the reason is, but even in recent interviews you can hear it. It’s not as bad as it was in home movies from when her mom was alive, but it seems like it’s been difficult to change all the way, since she’s been free of her mom. I think they mentioned it in the documentary
They brushed on the details and just breafly mentioned them, it wasn't as deep and detailed dive and way shorter case then last true crime case they covered ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Gypsy was made to feel like a weak child every day of her life. She did not have the proper knowledge awareness and understanding of how to get help. Every time she tried it failed. She was a trapped child and suppressed constantly. She wasn’t taught good ways to handle things. I believe she was pushed to her limits and if she hadn’t met a creep online but instead a good kind friend it would have been a totally different story.
She literally confirmed she knew she could walk, but her mother brainwashed her into pretending so that they could continue to get free stuf

another thing that wasn’t mentioned, even though cognitively she wasn’t handicapped, her mom infantilized her and she had no real concept of having normal human interactions or relationships and what life was really like outside of her mom and kids movies. they were always together except when her mom was asleep and that’s when she would secretly spend time on the internet. yes she had the capacity to be fully aware of her actions, but her mental maturity was extremely compromised. she was an adult for 3 years before she did what she did. almost all of the social and life skills she has she gained in prison.

Okay, after watching the full Finias segment he’s one of the best guests ever. He just seems genuine, and I love how positive he is even when being grilled. Like he knows he fucked up, but he also knows he’s just a total goofball and not trying to be serious. He has his own lane. Also, the giddiness of him responding to questions with a giggle and smile is so wholesome

I have been following the Gypsy Rose case from the beginning. I live in Missouri an hour from her home. I saw the Facebook posts as they were posted originally after they murdered Dee Dee. I have watched every single interview, show, literally everything. And so much was left out! I would have loved a more in depth PowerPoint. Everyone failed Gypsy and if you had every single fact you would know why it really was her only option. She tried everything and everyone failed her. Her mom was a master manipulator, and she never stood a chance against her with the way she was brainwashed. I'm so happy she finally gets to start her life for real.

Gypsy was probably “home schooled” and had no friends or even other family from what it sounds like. Also “just call the cops” is bullshit. Her mom was obviously manipulative enough to weaponize them against her. Cops don’t help. I’m shocked that Dan thinks they would have. They literally returned her back to her captor/ abuser. No way she could have just called them and got away no problem. I’m sure she also didn’t have a job or money to leave like a lot of domestic violence victims. If anyone should have been punished it should have been those doctors who are mandated reporters/ cps/ etc. society really failed her. She was basically a child w all the infantalizing/ torture her mom did to her. Gypsy rose should not have served time. That was clearly self defense even if it was planned. It’s just crazy to victim blame her even charging her w 2nd degree murder.

I think its worth mentioning that in the documentary, Gypsy’s family said that Dee Dee deserved what happened to her.

Why did no one in her family help her? It should have been pretty obvious that there was abuse.
The reason these details aren't given a lot of emphasis is because they occurred _after_ the murder. They don't reliably tell us much.
Aside from all of that I think the untold story that everyone should be focused on is how so many doctors failed to see what was happening. They performed multiple operations on her. That's really concerning.
IMO her endgame was to kill Gypsy off once she got too old for the grift then bask in the sympathy until she moved on to the next thing. I don't think Gypsy had much time left. Its horrific that she was even in the situation to have to come up with that type of scheme and to feel it was her only way out.

I forgot his name, but the guy with the pretty ⭐️hazel blues⭐️ is saying that she was over 18 and couldve left as another option, but if im remembering correctly, Gypsy didnt know her actual age until she was being interrogated by police and they told her that she was like 24 and she wasnt sick. I forget what age Gypsy thought she was at the time, but her mother had told her father on her 18th birthday that Gypsy didnt know she was 18, she thought she was like 14. So her thinking "im an adult, i can leave," i dont think ever wouldve crossed her mind, especially with all the drugs her mother was goving her.
